Trifocal Lens Replacement Surgical Procedure

Trifocal Lens Replacement Surgical Procedure

STEP 1

Topical anesthetic eye drops are administered preoperatively for a pain-free procedure. The surgeon creates a 2mm micro-incision at the corneal edge, precisely opens the anterior lens capsule while fully preserving the capsular bag to remove the aged natural lens and accommodate the new IOL.

STEP 2

Ultrasonic probes break up the cloudy aged natural lens into emulsified fragments, which are fully aspirated. Only the intact transparent capsular bag remains inside the eye, cleared of all residual cortex.

STEP 3

The folded trifocal IOL is inserted into the capsular bag through the micro-incision and unfolds automatically. The surgeon fine-tunes centration to secure stable positioning. No sutures are needed as the incision seals naturally; each eye takes only around 10 minutes to operate on.

Advantages of Trifocal Lens Replacement

Permanent Relief from Presbyopia

Trifocal Lens Replacement permanently corrects presbyopia. You will no longer need reading glasses or progressive lenses, even into old age.

Clear Vision for Far, Intermediate & Near Distances

Enjoy unrestricted daily vision with three focal points covering far, intermediate and near ranges. Most patients no longer require myopia glasses, reading glasses or any visual aids post-surgery.

Cataract Prevention

The trifocal lens replaces the stiffened natural lens. The artificial lens never ages or degenerates, effectively preventing cataracts.

Lifelong Lens Stability

The lens can remain implanted safely for up to 70 years, delivering stable clear vision for life.
